Varicose Vein

These veins are enlarged & swollen and they are characterized by a dark purple or blue color. Varicose veins are profoundly present in the legs; however they may also be present in the other body parts. Spider veins are one of the most common manifestations of varicose. They are named so because they resemble a spider web or a tree branch.

All the veins in the human body have valves present in them to prevent the backflow of blood. However when the valves are malfunctioned due to some reasons, backflow happens and the blood collects in the vein. As a result, the veins become swollen. The symptoms of varicose vein include:

  • Uncomfortable and heavy legs.
  • Occurrence of frequent cramps.
  • Frequent swelling in the ankles and feet.

Reliable statistics say that at least 3 in 10 adults are affected with this disease.

Treatment of varicose veins is needed for the following conditions:

  • When an excessive pain is felt.
  • For the treatment of skin discoloration, leg ulcers, swelling etc.
  • For cosmetic reasons.

Some of the natural tips that can ease the veins are:

  • Elevating the legs.
  • Maintaining a sedentary position during most of the times.
  • Exercise.

Nowadays, compression stockings are also available. These stocking when worn on the legs can improve the blood flow. Compression stockings are designed in such a manner that they are tight at ankles. The tightness decreases upwards. This facilitates more blood to flow back to the heart.

The medicines that are used for normalizing these veins are as follows:

  • Arnica Montana: This in particular, is used for swollen veins that appear to be sore or legs that appear to be highly bruised.
  • Carbo vegetabilis: This is administered for conditions when the blood circulation is generally insufficient with a frozen sensation in the extremities of the legs.
  • Zincum metallicum: The medicine is administered when there is a general weakness in the muscle, twitching sensation and a crawling feeling.
