Urinary Tract infection: Urinary tract can be infected in any of its parts, mainly due to bacteria. The main bacterium that causes UTI is Escherichia coli, which is a coli form bacterium. Urine can contain a wide variety of components like water, salts, fluids and other waste products, but not bacteria. Bacteria once present in the tract can reach other organs like kidney and result in infection. There are several forms of UTI present; acute cystitis, pyelonephritis etc.

Among the several symptoms, burning sensation in the urine, increased frequency of urination are the major ones. The symptoms of the infection can vary with body constitution and age. Additional signs include indecent urine smell and a cloudy presence.

Homeopathic Treatment

The important medications that are prescribed include:

  • Apis mellifica: This medication is used in the case of dark urine with a large amount of albumin present. The symptoms include an irritating sensation in the back and urine incontinence.
  • Pareira brava: This medicine is mostly used in case of cystitis, when the conditions such as difficulty in urination are strongly present.
  • Digitalis purpurea: 'Dig' is prescribed in the situations where there is an immense tendency to urinate but results only in negligible amounts of urine.
  • Terebinth: It is used when the urine is characterized by presence of blood in urine and excessive pressure in the urinary bladder, which may extent even up to the kidneys.
