Fissure

A disruptive open sore in various parts of human body is called fissure. There are various fissures all over body such as in brain, liver etc. However, the one that is developed in anus is an abnormal one. Fissure in anus can cause intense pain, sometimes accompanied with bleeding. The anus is situated in the last part of large intestine. Most cases of anal fissures are the result of constipation. However, other causes include continuous diarrhea, Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) etc.

Treatment of fissure through homoeopathy is very reliable. Switching to high-fiber diet, can also relieve oneself from pain in most cases.

There are several symptoms of anal fissure. The onset can be understood by a strong tearing sensation felt after emptying the bowel. Presence of blood can also accompany this.

The common medications are:

  • Graphites: 'Graph' is prescribed in conditions of a very sore anus accompanied by stools covered with mucus.
  • Paeonia (Paeon): It is used in particular when the anus the very moist.
  • Nitric Acid: 'Nit-ac' is prescribed when there is a feeling of obstruction in the anus. It may be administered to cure thread worms also.
  • Aesculus hip: When there is some soreness marked by a burning sensation, this medicine can be administered.
  • Causticum: This medicine may be suggested for those fissures that have a tendency to dry up. The fissure is characterized by brownish edges.
